Cops Nab Man Wanted in Attempted Sexual Assault Near I-395

Police have apprehended a 35-year-old man suspected of knocking a woman down and trying to sexually assault her near I-395 yesterday morning, according to authorities.

Lynwood Anthony McClure of Northeast D.C. was arrested and charged with assault with the intent to commit first degree sexual abuse in connection with the attack on the 200 block of H Street NW. Information on McClure’s lawyer wasn’t immediately available.

The woman was walking on the block about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday when a man approached her, police said. The man then pushed her to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her.

But several good Samaritans intervened, stopping the attack.
