Emergency crews with D.C. Fire and EMS rescued someone who was seriously injured and stranded atop a construction site near the Navy Yard Metro stop earlier today.
Rescuers were called for an unconscious person at a construction site on the 1200 block of 1st St. SE around 12:27 p.m., according to D.C. Fire and EMS spokesman Oscar Mendez.
The person was lowered from atop the unfinished building and taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries at 1:18 p.m., Mendez said.
A similar high-angle rescue was undertaken on the same block last month after someone assaulted a man at the site of the forthcoming F1RST mixed-use development at 1277 1st St. SE.
