H Street Farmers Market to Reopen Saturday
Food producers from across the region will once again return to H Street this weekend and kick off the season of selling fruit, vegetables and other food to locals.
The H Street FRESHFARM Market will return to H and 13th streets NE on Saturday. The market is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday through Dec. 17.
Per usual, local food makers will bring “the best of their local, seasonal bounty, including handmade cows’ milk cheeses, yogurt, organic and grass-fed meats, fruits, vegetables, eggs, pastries, sorbets, ice creams, flowers and more,”according to FRESHFARM Markets, which runs the H Street farmers market and others in the city.
Past food offerings have included blueberries from Blueberry Hill in Clear Spring, Md., pork from Cedarbrook Farm in Kearneysville, W.Va., and honey from Richfield Farm in Manchester, Md.
The H Street farmers market began in 2004.
