Police Stop ‘Possible Suspect’ in Bank Robberies Near NoMa

(Updated at 2:01 p.m.) The D.C. Police Department is currently investigating two bank robberies that occurred near NoMa earlier today.
Authorities said they stopped a “possible suspect” connected to bank robberies on the 1100 and 1200 blocks of 1st St. NE around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon.
Police got a call that someone had robbed an establishment on the 1200 block of 1st St. NE around 12:32 p.m. Then, police received word of a “confirmed robbery” on the 1100 block of 1st St. NE at 12:58 p,.m.
Police are currently on the lookout for a man suspected of robbing the Premier Bank on the 1100 block of 1st Street NE about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. It was immediately unclear whether that crime is linked to the robberies that occurred today.
