Knife-Wielding Thieves Steal Delivery Man’s Pizza in Hill East
A delivery man couldn’t drop off a large pizza in Hill East last night, thanks to two thieves with knives, police said.
The armed robbery happened on the 1800 block of A Street SE about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The area is just west of the Stadium-Armory Metro station.
The pizza man was parking his car near a house when two men walked up to the vehicle, according to authorities. The men then flashed their knives at the delivery man.
One of the men with a knife took $300 from the victim, while the other one took his pizza before they fled.
Police haven’t released any suspect descriptions.
Commissioner Denise Krepp of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6B, who lives nearby, went to Twitter this morning to express her concern about crime in the area:
Corner of 18th & A, SE becoming crime hotspot. Pizza delivery guy robbed last night. Last one involved guns. This time 2 knives. #hilleast

.@dcguide57 Agree. Restaurants won't deliver to #hilleast if they think they'll be robbed. @theHillisHome @HillNowNEWS @Andrew_HillRag
