Hundreds in Near Northeast Without Power After Pepco ‘Equipment Failure’
An apparent failure of underground equipment has left hundreds of residents and businesses in Near Northeast without power.
Pepco reported that roughly 430 of its customers in Near Northeast lost power some time this morning. Power outages were also reported in the Carver, Langston and Columbia Heights neighborhoods, according to a D.C. alert notice.
The outage also reportedly affected the lights at the Navy Yard Metro station:

The cause of the outage is listed as an “underground equipment failure.” Pepco said power could be restored to the affected areas around 3:30 p.m.
