Runners to Jog from H Street to Atlas Brew Works Thursday
Amateur athletes are set to run from H Street to a local craft brewery later this week.
The H Street Runners will host a “fun run” from the Capital Bikeshare station at 11th and H streets NE to Atlas Brew Works at 2052 West Virginia Ave. NE Thursday at 7 p.m.
The route to the brewery will span about three miles, according to the event’s organizers. “This run will include a preview of Gallaudet’s outdoor track facility, which is to open to members of the surrounding community,” a Facebook post about the event reads. “We’ll do a lap or two around the track and have a little bit of fun with it (trust me!) before continuing on to the brewery.”
Attendees must bring a legal ID along with their running shoes, organizers said.

Join H Street Runners this Thursday night (6/30) for a special fun run to Atlas Brew Works, DC’s award winning craft brewery. Conveniently located just a short distance from H Street, NE, Atlas Brew Works just completed a beautiful NEW TAP ROOM, which is now open serving FLIGHTS AND PINTS until 10 pm on weeknights! Also, food trucks typically frequent the brewery, and so food options are likely to be available as well. And there are vending machines with snacks and sandwiches. Please note that you will absolutely need legal proof of age (100% ID check) for this event, and please don’t forget your beer and/or food truck money (cash or card).
Meet up for the run at the Capital Bikeshare station located at the intersection of 11TH AND H STREETS, NE. We’ll run approximately three miles before arriving at Atlas Brew Works (which is actually only about 1.5 miles from H Street). As an added bonus (and because running straight to the brewery is too short a distance), this run will include a preview of Gallaudet’s outdoor track facility, which is to open to members of the surrounding community (H Street, Trinidad, NOMA). We’ll do a lap or two around the track and have a little bit of fun with it (trust me!) before continuing on to the brewery.
While we will not run back to H Street afterwards, we can certainly coordinate a group to walk back together (only takes about 15 minutes) or perhaps we can split Ubers. For safety rasons, folks should only head back in groups or in some form of transportation.
