Car Free Day 2015
WHAT:
Car Free Day 2015 — Pledge Now and Join a Car Free Day Team!
WHEN:
Tuesday, September 22, 2015
WHERE:
Throughout the metropolitan Washington region (The District of Columbia and surrounding cities and counties in Maryland and Virginia)
WHY:
Pledging for Car Free Day demonstrates your support for a greener commute by helping to reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions in the metropolitan Washington region. This year, when pledging to go car free or car-lite at www.carfreemetrodc.org, commuters can choose a team based on their preferred travel mode: #teambike, #teamwalk, #teamrail, #teambus, #teampool or #teamtelework. Participants are encouraged to share their team story on social media to show the benefits of alternatives to drive alone commuting. As always, pledging for Car Free Day automatically enters participants into drawings for great prizes!
Commuter Connections celebrates World Car Free Day, each year on September 22 as part of its ongoing effort to promote alternatives that help improve mobility, reduce congestion, and clean the air in the metropolitan Washington region.
