Free ‘Yala’ Fitness at The Wharf

Gangplank Marina Park at The Wharf
600 Water St. SW
Washington, D.C. 20024

Come and join renowned fitness personality Laurent Amzallag every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. until the end of September for an intense, but insanely fun, “YaLa Workout” at The Wharf.

Yala is the only dance based workout choreographed to 15 athletic moves that will tone and shape your entire body while burning tons of calories.

As always, the workout is free and open to everyone.

Oprah Winfrey recently chose Laurent as her fitness expert to motivate and get all her guests to “shake their booties” on her “Live Your Best Life” tour.

ELLE Magazine also featured Laurent in their June 2004 issue, describing his fitness training style as “Sexercise.” Laurent’s charismatic energy and motivational skills have led to a long list of international bookings and promotions for his revolutionary brand of fitness: The Yala Workout. (Yala means, “Let’s Go.”)

Laurent’s unique Yala Workout has been featured on both FOX and NBC. After receiving national exposure for the NBC feature, Laurent is now the regular co-host for their weekly fitness segment. On-air experience includes hosting the “lunchtime workout” on a highly rated radio station. He has also been invited to participate in numerous events sponsored by the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Other relevant experience includes hosting his own local fitness show that ran for two years, acting as a keynote speaker at conferences and trade shows and performing regular “stand-up” comedy routines, where he focuses on topics such as fitness and dieting. Most recently, Laurent starred in a TV pilot for a new fitness show.

Laurent is the author of a fitness and nutrition guide, “The Real Deal: Once and For All,” and is the creator and driving force behind a gourmet health food vending services company called Snappy Snacks. He is also the star of a new and original workout called the “Houseworkout”.

In his free time, Laurent volunteers at Children’s Hospital where he uses dance and fitness as a means to overcome illness and injury, a successful formula he himself experienced as a young child.
