Lace Up for RAINN 5K

Congressional Cemetery
1801 E St. SE
Washington, D.C. 20003

RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, is excited to invite Capitol Hill residents to the Lace Up for RAINN 5K event, in support of survivors of sexual violence. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE and online.rainn.org), as well as carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help victims and ensure that rapists are brought to justice.

“Running opened up a whole new way of dealing with my assault,” says Laurel, a D.C.-area resident and survivor of sexual assault. “I saw therapists and went to group counseling, but running allowed me to be alone with my own thoughts while also working on myself, creating a healthier me both physically and mentally.”

For the past two years, hundreds of runners like Laurel have laced up for survivors and dedicated 3.1 miles toward ending sexual violence as part of the annual Lace Up for RAINN 5K.
