The College Admissions Process: A Road Map

These two talks will help high school students and their families learn what they can do throughout high school to be well-prepared and confident as they navigate the college admissions process.
The two sessions are designed for different age groups. Each will offer advice on choosing colleges, insight into how colleges choose students, guidance on planning for standardized tests and campus visits, and a brief overview of financial aid. The 1 to 3 p.m. talk for 9th and 10th graders will also discuss what the changes in the SAT mean for the class of 2017 and beyond. The 3 to 5 p.m. session for juniors will include further discussion of developing a college list, writing college essays and preparing strong applications.
The workshops will be led by Becky Claster, an independent educational consultant who specializes in undergraduate admissions. Register online.
