A black Acura sedan wanted in connection with a robbery attempt and assault near Union Station earlier this month has appeared in surveillance footage, police said.
The violent attempted robbery happened on the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue NE about 10:30 p.m. June 6.
Video police distributed yesterday in connection with the crime shows someone driving the car around a parking garage.
Authorities said they’re looking for two suspects in connection with the crime. But police haven’t released any footage of them.

A man was stabbed in an attempted robbery in Rosedale this morning, police said.
The crime occurred on the 1600 block of F Street NE about 10:30 a.m. The area is just southeast of Miner Elementary School.
The victim was conscious after the attack.

Three teens, including one with a handgun, attempted to rob a person near the H Street corridor this afternoon.
The attempted robbery happened just after 12:20 p.m. on the 1100 block of I Street NE. According to a police alert, one of the would-be thieves was between 18 and 20 years old and had a silver handgun. The other two suspects were juveniles.
Police described the suspect with the gun as:
A black male wearing a black hoodie and black pants, 18-20 years old, slim build and armed with a silver handgun
Police said the other two suspects were black male juveniles and did not release any further description.
The attempted robbery occurred several blocks from the scene of another armed robbery over the weekend, which was also carried out by three men whose ages police estimated were between 16 and 22.
A would-be robber was unable to steal a car after attacking a man last night in the Capitol Hill area, which has seen a rash of carjackings in the past week, police said.
The attempted carjacking happened on the 100 block of K Street SE about 7 p.m. Monday. The incident in Navy Yard followed three carjackings that have occurred in Ward 6 since last Tuesday.
In yesterday’s attempted carjacking, the victim was standing near his car when someone struck his face with an unknown object, according to authorities. The attacker then got into the man’s vehicle and ordered him to hand over his keys.
Instead, the victim ran away with his keys. The would-be thief eventually left the scene without the car.
Police haven’t released any suspect information.
The incident came after two carjackers who said they were armed struck in northeast Capitol Hill Friday, two robbers with guns stole a car from a man in Hill East Wednesday and someone with a gun took a car from a man about a block northeast of Lincoln Park last Tuesday.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the carjackings were connected.

A would-be thief sought to get a hamburger at a NoMa restaurant yesterday afternoon, after he failed to obtain the money inside a cash register at the eatery, police said.
The attempted robbery happened on the 1300 block of 2nd Street NE about 4:30 p.m. Monday. Authorities didn’t identify the business. But the block includes a Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
The man gave a threatening note to a restaurant employee in his quest to commit a robbery, police said.
“This is a stick up,” the note said, according to authorities. “Give me everything you have in the register or you are going to get hurt.”
But the worker told the man the register was locked.
The man then asked for a hamburger. The employee told the man he couldn’t have a burger, either.
The would-be thief left soon after empty-handed.
Police arrested someone in connection with the robbery, according to authorities. The individual’s identity wasn’t immediately clear, however.

A would-be thief punched and tried to rob someone he knew near a library on Capitol Hill yesterday afternoon, police said.
The attempted robbery happened next to the Southeast Library at 403 7th St. SE about 5 p.m. Thursday.
The victim was in the area when an acquaintance in search of money punched him twice, according to authorities. The attacker then went through the victim’s pockets, but didn’t take anything.
The victim declined medical assistance.
Police are looking for two people in connection with the crime. They are:

Two thieves also punched and robbed a man near Union Station last night, police said.
The robbery occurred on the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue NW about 9 p.m. Thursday.
The victim was in an alley in the area eating when two men approached him, according to authorities. They then punched him in the face and grabbed his bag before fleeing.
The victim was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

The armed robbery happened on the 800 block of F Street NE about 9:15 a.m.
Authorities said they’re looking for:
B/M, 5’11”, tall, blue & black hooded jacket, black jeans, black shoes last seen running north bound.
But the armed thief wasn’t the only robber with a gun seen since Friday.
A group of four teenage boys robbed somebody at gunpoint in the NoMa area Friday night, too, police said
The armed robbery occurred on the unit block of K Street NW about 10:30 p.m. Friday.
Authorities described the suspects as:
Four B/M 15 years of age. One suspect wearing tan pants and armed with a handgun. One Suspect wearing a black shirt with white lettering.
Tw0 would-be thieves also stabbed a man after they tried to snatch his bag on the H Street corridor Friday afternoon, police said.
The incident happened on the 1000 block of H Street NW about 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Authorities haven’t released any suspect information.

A woman scared away a would-be thief after she got him in the face with pepper spray about a block from the Kingsman Academy Public Charter School last night, police said.
The attempted robbery happened on the 400 block of 13th Street NE about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The woman was walking in the area when a man went up to her from behind, according to authorities. He then tried to grab her purse. But she used pepper spray to stop him.
He ran away soon after, empty-handed.

Multiple robberies on Capitol Hill last night may have been committed by the same group of kids, according to police.
The first robbery occurred about 6:45 p.m. on the 800 block of 13th Street NE. A man reported that several kids pushed him to the ground from behind before one of the kids flashed a knife. The man was able to flee before his attackers were able to steal anything from him.
The next robbery occurred 30 minutes later on the 600 block of F Street NE about 7:15 p.m. A woman reported that four kids approached her and began tugging at her purse and grabbing her. A neighbor was able to stop the attack by yelling at the suspect, who fled without obtaining the woman’s purse.
Later, two people reported being approached by three kids who demanded their belongings. The kids stole a purse from the two victims and fled on G Street NE.
In all three cases, the suspects were described as black boys between the ages of 10 and 14 wearing dark clothing.
Metropolitan Police First District Commander Jeff Brown said in an email that the three incidents appear to be related.
A man was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed in the chest in Southwest last night.
The man entered the First District police station at 101 M St. SW about 10 p.m. saying he was stabbed in the chest, according to an email from police Lieutenant Brian Murphy.
The man reported that he was approached by three men wearing face masks on the 300 block of M Street SW. The victim said that one of the men stabbed him without any provocation.
There was also an attempted robbery on Capitol Hill last night. A man was in an alley of the 500 block of 8th Street SE about 9:45 p.m. when he was approached by two men in ski masks. One of the men flashed a grey handgun and demanded money. When the victim refused, the suspects fled down the 700 block of E Street SE.
Earlier in the evening, there was a robbery on the 1000 block of 5th Street SE. A woman reported that two people approached her from behind about 4:50 p.m. and attempted to grab her cell phone. The woman fell to the ground after a struggle and the thieves fled with her phone, according to an email from police Lieutenant Joseph Cullen.
A man who pleaded guilty to shooting a boy during an attempted robbery in Hill East was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday.
Malique Haynes, 20, pleaded guilty to the July shooting on the 200 block of 15th Street SE in August, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Haynes shot a 15-year-old boy on July 15 about 10:10 p.m. during a robbery attempt, the U.S. Attorney’s office said. Haynes told the boy to empty his pockets and when the boy said he had no money and began walking away, Haynes shot the boy in the stomach, hitting his liver and kidney.
Haynes was arrested for the shooting on July 21. After he serves his five-year prison sentence, Haynes will be placed on three years of supervised release.

A group of teenagers violently robbed a woman in Hill East last night, police said.
The robbery happened on the 1200 block of C Street SE about 8:15 p.m. The area is between Lincoln Park and Watkins Elementary School.
The woman was walking in the area when five teen boys came up to her from behind, according to authorities. One of them grasped her by the throat and demanded her cellphone and purse, which she gave him.
The teens then ran toward Pennsylvania Avenue SE.

Police also have arrested a man wanted in connection with an attempted robbery on the H Street corridor this morning.
Andre Green, 55, is suspected of trying to rob the Rite Aid at 801 H St. NE about 8 a.m., according to authorities. The pharmacy is in the H Street Connection strip mall.
A hooded man with his hand under his shirt approached a store clerk and demanded money, police said. The employee then ran away and the man fled.
Police canvassed the area for the man and apprehended Green, who authorities said matched the clerk’s description of the would-be thief.
Information on Green’s lawyer wasn’t immediately available.
(Updated at 9 a.m.) Two would-be thieves assaulted a man in an attempted robbery in NoMa last night, police said.
The attempted robbery happened near North Capitol and N streets NE about 11 p.m.
The victim was walking in the area when two men approached him from behind, according to authorities. The two men then hit the victim and tried to take something from him before they fled.
The victim was hospitalized with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, a D.C. Fire and EMS Department spokesman said.

(Updated at 2:10 p.m.) Two girls were arrested in connection with an attempted robbery in which a woman was maced about midnight, police said.
The attempted robbery happened on the 900 block of 1st Street NE.
Two would-be robbers approached the woman and another person when they were walking in the area, according to authorities. One of the would-be thieves then tried to snatch the woman’s purse before the victim was sprayed with mace in the face.
The would-be robbers eventually fled without the woman’s bag.
Police canvassed the area for the would-be thieves before making the arrests near the scene of the crime.

(Updated at 8:50 a.m. Friday) Two young men with a gun attempted to rob a man in Hill East this morning.
The would-be robbers struck on the 100 block of 16th Street SE about 10:15 a.m., police said. One of them ran away and the other would-be thief fled on a black moped, after the victim tried to chase them.
While running after them, the victim hurt himself, according to authorities. He wasn’t stabbed as local blog PoPville reported.
Police described the would-be thieves as males who are 16 to 20 years old.
Two thieves also robbed a woman at gunpoint in Hill East yesterday morning.
The robbery happened on the 1300 block of South Carolina Avenue SE about 6:45 a.m., according to authorities.
The woman was walking on a sidewalk in the area when the two robbers approached her, flashed a handgun and took her purse, police said.
Authorities haven’t released descriptions of the suspects.
