Woman Shot in Hill East

A woman was shot in Hill East over the weekend, police said.

The shooting happened on the 100 block of 17th Street SE about 2:15 a.m. Sunday. The area is about two blocks west of the Stadium-Armory Metro station.

The victim had multiple gunshot wounds, but survived, according to authorities.

Police haven’t released any suspect information.

After the shooting, commissioner Denise Krepp of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6B tweeted photos of damage that appeared to come from bullets.

A community meeting is scheduled for this week to discuss the crime.

The fatal shooting happened in Hill East on the 700 block of Kentucky Avenue SE about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. The other shootings occurred on the 1100 block of 3rd Street SW about 10:15 p.m. Friday and on the 1500 block of F Street NE near Miner Elementary School about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

In the fatal shooting, authorities found 40-year-old Stephanie Goodloe of Southeast D.C. dead when they arrived, police said. Donald Hairston, a 49-year-old resident of District Heights, Md., was arrested Saturday and charged with first degree murder while armed in connection with the crime.

Information on his lawyer wasn’t immediately available.

Police didn’t release suspect information in the other shootings. The conditions of the people injured in those attacks also weren’t immediately clear.

Man Shot in Hill East

1200 block of Potomac Avenue SE (Photo via Google Maps)A man was shot in Hill East this afternoon, according to authorities.

The shooting happened on the 1200 block of Potomac Avenue SE about 3:45 p.m. The area is just south of the Potomac Gardens public housing complex.

The victim was brought to a local hospital in serious condition.

Man Shot in Navy Yard

Police car lightA man was shot in Navy Yard last night, police said.

The shooting happened on the 900 block of 5th Street SE about 9:30 p.m. Monday. The area is just south of the Southeast Freeway.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities haven’t released any suspect information. But police said they’re looking for a navy blue Nissan sedan in connection with the crime.

Police are on the lookout for a man connected to the shooting that injured four men in NoMa yesterday afternoon.

D.C. Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of North Capitol St. and New York Ave. NW just before 4:30 p.m. yesterday. When officers arrived on the scene, they found four men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Those men were conscious when they were taken to the hospital, police said.

Additionally, authorities said someone behind the wheel of a car drove into a police officer who was rushing to the scene of the shooting. That officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injures, according to police.

MPD is on the lookout for someone described as:

Black male, 5’6″, medium brown complexion, wearing a black mask, dark colored pants and a black jacket.

The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in reference to a quadruple shooting, which occurred in the area of North Capitol Street and New York Avenue, Northwest, on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

At approximately 4:24 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to a call for a shooting. Upon arrival on the scene, members located four adult males, all conscious and breathing, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were all transported to local hospitals for treatment. Additionally, an MPD mountain bike officer was struck by a vehicle a short distance away from the scene, while responding. The officer sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’6″, medium brown complexion, wearing a black mask, dark colored pants and a black jacket.

(Updated at 5:10 p.m.) Four people were hospitalized after a multiple shooting in NoMa this afternoon, according to authorities.

The shooting happened near New York Avenue and North Capitol Street NE about 4:30 p.m., D.C. Fire and EMS spokesman Doug Buchanan said.

At least three people were suffering from gunshot wounds when paramedics arrived, he said.

The conditions of the people brought to the hospital weren’t immediately clear.

Police car lightThree men and one woman were injured during two separate shootings and two separate stabbings in the Capitol Hill area since Friday, police said.

The shootings happened on the 200 block of K Street SW about 12:15 a.m. Sunday and on the 700 block of 13th Street SE about 2 a.m. Saturday.

Each shooting injured a man. Authorities haven’t released suspect information in either of the crimes.

One of the stabbings, which injured a man, occurred on the 1200 block of Half Street SW about 9:30 p.m. Friday. The other stabbing, which injured a woman, was reported after the victim arrived at a fire station on the 1500 block of C Street SE about 1 a.m. today.

Authorities haven’t distributed descriptions of the individuals suspected of the crimes. But the person wanted in the stabbing of the woman is someone she knows, police said.

Woman Shot in Hill East

The shooting occurred about 2:55 p.m. on the 1000 block of 13th Street SE. The woman was shot multiple times and was conscious and breathing, according to police.

Police have not yet released any suspect description or information.

300 H Street NEA D.C. Police officer shot and critically injured a gun-wielding man on H Street earlier today, authorities said.

The shooting occurred on the 300 block of H Street NE just before 6:30 a.m. today, an MPD press release said.

According to police, an off-duty officer saw a man leaving a store with allegedly shoplifted items. When the officer tried to stop the man, police said the suspect pulled out a gun.

“The suspect failed to comply with the officer’s commands and the officer discharged his weapon,” continues the press release. “The suspect’s weapon was recovered on the scene.”

The man was taken to an area hospital in critical but stable condition, authorities said.

Chief of Police Cathy Lanier and Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a police-involved shooting that occurred on Sunday, May 29, 2016, in an establishment in the 300 block of H Street, Northeast.

At approximately 6:29 am, an off-duty officer observed an adult male carrying objects from the listed location in his arms and backpack.  The officer attempted to stop the individual for shoplifting, when the suspect produced a firearm.  The suspect failed to comply with the officer’s commands and the officer discharged his weapon.  The suspect’s weapon was recovered on the scene.

The suspect was transported to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.

Man Shot in Southwest

The shooting happened on the 1100 block of 3rd Street SW about 5 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was conscious after the assault.

Police haven’t released any suspect information.

According to authorities, other crime reported in the Capitol Hill area over the weekend included:

  • A robbery with a knife on the 600 block of Lexington Place NE about 11 p.m. Saturday. Police haven’t released detailed suspect information. But authorities said they’re looking for two men, at least one of whom wore a mask. At least one of them also fled on a bicycle.
  • A robbery with a gun on 700 block of 11th Street NE about 4:45 p.m. Sunday. Police haven’t released a detailed description of the suspect. But they said he fled in a gray Chevrolet Impala.

police car3A man was shot in Northeast Capitol Hill on Saturday after an argument with another man.

The shooting happened near the intersection of 17th and D streets NE just before 6:40 p.m. Saturday, according to a police alert.

Police said the two men were arguing over the sale of untaxed cigarettes and began to fight. One of the men tried to escape and heard four or five gunshots as he walked toward 16th St. NE. The man who fled was struck once in the shooting and hospitalized.

On Sunday there was an armed robbery near the H Street corridor. The robbery happened about 10:15 p.m. on the 1000 block of 8th Street NE according to a police alert.

Police are looking for three suspects in the robbery and described them as:

  • Black male with a dark complexion, slim, 16-22 years old, wearing a black sweatshirt and black ski mask

  • Black male with a dark complexion , slim, 16-22 years old, wearing a dark sweatshirt

  • Black male with a light complexion, slim, 16-22 years old, wearing a gray sweatshirt

Early this morning, a person armed with a gun robbed a 7-Eleven near the NoMa-Gallaudet University Metro station. The robbery happened about 4:25 a.m. Monday at the convenience store at 1315 2nd St. NE.

The same 7-Eleven location was robbed by a man with a gun early on Friday morning as well.

The shooting happened on the 1200 block of I Street SE about 1:15 a.m. The block includes the Potomac Gardens public housing complex.

The victim received non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities haven’t released any suspect information.

The shooting came less than a month after a man was shot on the same block.

100 block of New York Avenue NE (Photo via Google Maps)(Updated at 1:40 p.m.) A man fled to NoMa after three robbers shot him last night, police said.

The shooting happened on the 300 block of U Street NE about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday. But police found the victim on the 100 block on New York Avenue NE,  just north of the headquarters of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The victim was trying to sell shoes to a man he met on the internet, according to authorities. During the meeting, two other men joined the prospective buyer, and all three of them flashed guns.

The men then took the shoes and $100 from the victim before he jumped in his car and headed to NoMa. As he left, the thieves shot him in the leg and sprayed his car with bullets.

The victim was brought to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police haven’t released detailed descriptions of the suspects.
